Top 3 Yoga Poses to Open up Tight Hips

Yoga stretching is very important and has many amazing benefits. Physically, regular stretching improves flexibility, posture, and blood circulation while also reduces muscle tension, pain, and chance of injury. Mentally, yoga can significantly reduce stress and anxiety while improving overall emotional health and wellbeing.

Today weโ€™ll go through 3 beginner hip openers that anyone can do.

The first one is the Butterly Pose, or Baddha Konasana.

The second one is Wide Angle Seated Forward Bend, or Upavishta Konasana

The final one is Half Lotus forward, or Fold Siddhasana

Why gravity assisted poses are so effective is that they allow minimal effort from our body so we can focus more on relaxing and letting gravity to all the work. Usually to hold a pose we must engage certain muscles but when we do these gravity assisted poses, our entire body can relax fully.

Opening the hips have three key benefits.

Firstly a lot of emotional stress is stored in the hips, so but opening them up, we can release the stored stress.

Secondly, it helps support the lower back which is a problem area for many people. increasing the  range of movement, improves blood circulation, and while providing more support for the muscles of the back and the spine.

Finally, hip openers can help the joints of the lower back, hips and legs to come into better alignment because the   flexibility in the hips can help to re-align this supportive space for greater and stronger mobility.

For maximum benefit, try to rest in these positions for just 5 minutes each every day, when youโ€™re meditation or doing breathing exercises, or even when your watching tv or reading a book. Ideally, its better to do conscious breathing so that you can deepen the stretch on the outbreath, but fitting them into your leisure activities is also great too.
